-Report filed by Tibet Bureau, Geneva-
Germany: Representative Ngodup Dorjee of the Tibet Bureau Geneva just concluded a four-day (16 November to 19 November) visit to Germany, including Hamburg, Frankfurt, Bonn, Baden, and Munchin.
We need to put “individual and collective efforts in preserving Tibetan identity and rich culture,” Representative Dorjee told the German-Tibetan community members.
He emphasised that the preservation of our culture by promoting, practicing and studying it while integrating well into the western environment will strengthen the Tibetan movement.
Representative Dorjee also talked about the nature, evolution and essence of the Middle Way Approach and the Central Tibetan Administration’s (CTA) unwavering commitment to resolving the Tibet issue through dialogue with the Chinese government.
The Middle Way Approach is the CTA’s official policy which calls for a genuine autonomy for the Tibetan people within the framework of the Chinese Constitution.
A presentation on the official guidelines and procedures for Chatrel payment—a voluntary contribution Tibetans make to the CTA—was given.
“Chatrel payment shows the Tibetan people’s support and commitment to the work and vision of the CTA,” said Sonam Tharchin, accountant of the Tibet Bureau.
Lobsang Phuntsok, President of the German-Tibetan community, presented the annual report of the community and thanked the community members for their support in successfully carrying out all the events in the past year.
