Paonta: In accordance with the decision of the Central Tibetan Administration to observe this year as the “Year of Compassion,” marking the 90th birthday of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, the Paonta Cholsum Regional Ghoton Organising Committee conducted a long-life prayer service as part of the ongoing commemorative programmes.

The prayer service was held on 14 January 2026, coinciding with the auspicious day of White Wednesday. From 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, members of the local Tibetan community gathered at the Paonta Cholsum community prayer hall to participate in collective prayers.

During the programme, recitation and accumulation of Mani and Tara mantras were performed with prayers for the long life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the fulfilment of all his noble aspirations. The prayer service was organised as part of the long-life offering programme being observed by the settlement in honour of His Holiness.

The programme concluded successfully as per the planned schedule.
