Paonta: As part of the ongoing celebrations marking His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 90th birth year, the Paonta Choelsum Tibetan Settlement distributed free books and stationery to government schools in the region, namely Government Secondary School, Bhuppur; Shaheed Kamal Kant Memorial Government Senior Secondary School, Kotri Bias; and Government High School, Behral.

The programme, organised by the Paonta Choelsum Regional Ghoton Organising Committee from 29 to 30 April, was held at the respective schools as part of the annual Ghoton celebrations. During the visits, the Settlement Officer and committee members interacted with principals, teachers, and students, introducing the significance of Ghoton and the four principal commitments of His Holiness.

A total of 476 individuals, including 250 students and 26 teachers, benefited from the initiative, which concluded successfully.
