
Dharamshala: Parliamentarian Thondup Tsering from North and South America visited Ithaca, New York, from 5 to 6 October, 2024.
On the evening of 5 October, the Tibetan MP addressed the local Tibetan community, highlighting the critical situation in Tibet and the need to advocate for its just cause. He emphasised the importance of preserving and protecting the distinct Tibetan language, religion, culture, and identity. The event included a Q&A session, followed by a dinner hosted by the Tibetan community in his honor.
The next day, the MP visited the local weekend school, where he spoke with teachers and students. He expressed gratitude on behalf of the Tibetan community in Ithaca to the Namgyal Monastery Institute of Buddhist Studies for its support, through Ven. Tenzin Choesang.
