Canberra, Australia: As part of CTA’s yearlong celebration of Gratitude to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the Office of Tibet Canberra is organizing “In Conversation with Kungo Lobsang Jinpa”, a virtual interactive discussion with former Secretary of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Mr Lobsang Jinpa.
Mr Lobsang Jinpa served as the Secretary of His Holiness the Dalai Lama between 1993 to 2005. After a brief retirement, he resumed service as the Secretary of His Holiness the Dalai Lama for another few years. Mr Jinpa is also a former CTA official who served dedicatedly over 34 years. At CTA, he assumed many responsibilities from serving in the Department of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the Private Office, Member of Charitable Trust (Calcutta) as well as the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives. In 1980, he became the Secretary of the Department of Security, and subsequently, he was posted to Nepal as the Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. He was also a member of the second fact-finding delegation to Tibet.
In the virtual conversation, former Secretary Lobsang Jinpa will speak about the outstanding contributions and achievements of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Representative Lhakpa Tshoko will moderate the conversation.
The event will be broadcast live from Tibet TV’s Facebook page on 29 December at 12am in Canberra, Australia 8am (EST) at Washington-DC 6.30pm (IST) India.
