
Washington DC: Tibetan Liaison Officer Kunga Tashi from the Office of Tibet, Washington DC, participated in the 29th founding anniversary celebration of the Losel Ketsel Ling Tibetan Weekend Language Class. The event was also attended by the President of the Tibetan Community of New York & New Jersey (TCNYNJ), as well as the school’s Principal, teachers, parents, and members of the broader community.
The program commenced with the traditional offering of kathags to the portrait of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, setting a reverent tone for the gathering. This was followed by remarks from the school’s Principal and the President of TCNYNJ, who each provided updates on the current status of the school and reflected on its administrative progress since its establishment.
The Director General of the school offered a retrospective look into the institution’s founding in 1996, sharing the early challenges faced and highlighting the steady growth and development it has achieved over the years.
In his address, Liaison Officer Kinga Tashi commended the school’s vital role in preserving and promoting Tibetan language and culture among Tibetan youth in the region. He emphasised the importance of continued collaboration among the school’s administration, teaching staff, parents’ committee, and TCNYNJ to ensure the institution’s sustained success.
The celebration concluded with a vibrant showcase of traditional and contemporary performances.
