
Office of Auditor General Commences Statutory Compliance Training at Indian Institute of Public Administration
New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), New Delhi, inaugurated a five-day Statutory Compliance Training program on 13 January 2025 with sponsorship from USAID and the National Democratic Institute (NDI). The training aims to equip 33 participants from the Office of Auditor General (OAG) Head Office branches in India and Nepal with essential knowledge on compliance and governance.
The inaugural session featured Shri Surendra Nath Tripathi, Director General of IIPA and IAS (Retd.), and Shri Amitabh Ranjan, Registrar, IIPA. Dr Surabhi Pandey, Programme Coordinator, outlined the training objectives.
In his opening remarks, Shri Surendra Nath Tripathi underscored the importance of change management and encouraged participants to cultivate the ability to analyse situations from broader perspectives to address organisational challenges effectively.
Shri Amitabh Ranjan, Registrar, began by expressing condolences for the recent earthquake in Dingri County, Tibet, highlighting its devastating impact on life and property. He stressed the importance of adhering to the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA) for the CTA, emphasising that compliance is critical to ensuring the organisation’s smooth and effective operations.
On behalf of the Auditor General’s Office, Joint Secretary Kunchok Wangdue extended gratitude to IIPA for organising the training for CTA auditors. He commended IIPA’s expertise and its efforts in strengthening the capacity of the CTA’s auditing team, which plays a vital role in ensuring accountability and transparency within the administration.
The training schedule includes sessions led by subject matter experts on topics such as FCRA Amendments Act 2020, Emotional Intelligence and Mind Matrix, IT Act and Rules for Charitable Societies and Audit and Performance Audits. Field visits to Akshardham and the PM Sangrahalaya are planned to enhance practical understanding.
The program will conclude on 18 January 2025, with a valedictory session focused on stress and time management. The training is expected to significantly enhance the CTA’s compliance capabilities, ensuring improved governance and operational efficiency.
