Dharamshala: Norbulingka Institute celebrated its 28th Founding anniversary on 8th November, Wednesday.
Secretary Chime Tseyang of the Department of Religion and Culture, in her address as the chief guest, spoke on the significance of Tibetan culture. She apprised the audience about the immediate initiation of Council for Religious Affairs by His Holiness the Dalai Lama after coming into exile.
Moreover, she spoke about the establishment of Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA) in regard to its importance in preserving Tibetan Culture, adding that Tibetan culture and religion are a crucial part of Tibet’s cause.
Norbulingka Institute was established to create an environment that would preserve Tibetan culture and ensure their continuity. The founders of Norbulingka prioritized the conservation and propagation of religious art and culture which had received a serious blow in Tibet.
