Austria: The Voluntary Tibet Advocacy Group (V-TAG) members under the Geneva jurisdiction (Yangzi and Dawoe from Austria, Tenzin Yeshi from Germany, Tashi Tsering and Sejee Dorjee from Switzerland ) sought to recruit new V-TAG members and for this purpose held presentations on two occasions.
On 2 September, the V-TAG members participated in the Democracy Day event in Vienna organised by the Tibetan community in Austria. The members gathered gave a brief presentation on V-TAG with a subsequent Q&A session. The audience was introduced to the aims and various activity fields of the new advocacy project as well as to the means of getting involved in the initiative. The president and vice president of the Tibetan community in Austria expressed their complete support for the V-TAG project.
On 3 September, the V-TAG members gathered the Tibetan community in Linz for a presentation on the V-TAG project. The members of the local Tibetan community showed great interest in the new project. Many young Tibetans also participated in the event.
The two events held on Democracy Day weekend in Austria were a success since they gave the V-TAG members an opportunity to introduce V-TAG and get directly in touch with the Tibetan communities.
