Mungod: Under the auspices of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s birth anniversary, the local Mundgod Tibetan Health Centre has been providing free eye care services to the local residents of Mundgod since 3 July 2025 to alleviate vision problems.

The initiative included eye screenings conducted by the health centre, alongside eye surgeries performed by the Vedaant Eye Care and Health Centre from Hubli.

To date, a total of 144 members of the public, including both monastic and lay communities, have undergone eye examinations. Furthermore, 26 individuals received surgeries for cataracts and pterygium, as well as blood tests and prescription eye drops.
