REWALSAR, HP: Men-Tsee-Khang opened its 57th branch clinic on 16 May 2012 in Rewalsar popularly known as Tso Pema, Himachal Pradesh.
The Chief Guest His Eminence Ontul Rinpoche of Wongmin Thubten Shedrup Ling Monastery inaugurated the clinic. The other dignitaries present were Mr Bansi Lal (Pradhan), Mr Tej Singh (Gram Panchayat Pradhan), Settlement Officer of Pandoh, the members of the local assembly, heads of the different monasteries etc.
The chief guest and the registrar of the institute Mr Tsering Phuntsok addressed the gathering on the occasion. Dr Shedup Sangie has been appointed as the resident doctor and Mrs. Tsetan as the dispenser cum accountant of the branch clinic.
In 1998, the branch clinic at Bir settlement started medical camp at Rewalsar to provide health care facilities to the residents, pilgrims ,hermits etc in the area. For fourteen years, the team visited once every month and provided treatment to the people here.
Men-Tsee-khang thanked Ontul Rinpoche and Lama Wangdor Rinpoche who gave their support by providing free facilities and accomodation.
The institute also thanked the Health department of the Central Tibetan Administration and the office of the Pandoh settlement for the arrangements, and Wongmin Shedrup ling monastery for its support in opening the new branch clinic at their monastery and providing facilities during the inauguration.
