Mandi: The Mandi Tibetan Settlement Office, led by Jamyang Dolma, marked the “Year of Compassion”, celebrating the 14th Dalai Lama’s 90th birthday as well as a day to commemorate the historic occasion of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s US Congressional Gold Medal anniversary by conducting a community aid program on 17 October 2025.

The Settlement Officer, Jamyang Dolma, distributed essential educational materials to 65 students at the Government Central Primary School, Pandoh.

Following a request from the principal of P.M. Shri School, the Settlement Office also distributed winter shoes to 153 students. This support is particularly crucial as approximately 90% of the students at P.M. Shri School come from labour and underprivileged family backgrounds.

Dolma introduced the program’s purpose, emphasising the spirit of compassion and service. Staff and students from both schools expressed their gratitude for the timely and supportive initiative.
