Delhi: The Public Service Commission, CTA, organised a Management Development Programme on Leadership Skills at Indian Institution for Public Administration (IIPA) in Delhi from 9-14 January 2023. A total of 18 Tibetan Settlement Officers from North, Central and South Tibetan Settlements in India participated in the training.
The event’s inaugural ceremony began with the offering of Tibetan ceremonial Khatak (white scarf) to Shri SN Tripathi, Director General of IIPA, and a presentation of IIPA memento to Wangdue Tsering Pesur, Public Service Commissioner, at the institution’s TNC hall.
Dr Surabhi Pandey, the Program Coordinator of the IIPA, welcomed participants and briefed them about the training programs, followed by an address from the Guest of Honour.
In his address, Public Service Commissioner Pesur Wangdue Tsering spoke about the mission of leadership skills training that aims to build the capacity of staff and enhance their skills.
Furthermore, he requested Tibetan Settlement Officers to cooperate with upcoming trainings and thanked IIPA for conducting the programme modules as proposed by Public Service Commission.
The Chief Guest, Shri SN Tripathi, stressed the importance of time management and being a bureaucrat himself for more than 30 years; he underscored that “it is the only key leadership skill that works in any organisation”.
He then spoke on the mission of IIPA, which is to impart training and management to the trainees and concluded his speech by mentioning His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s visit to IIPA while highly appreciating His Holiness’ principal and teachings.
