Dharamshala: The Department of Religion and Culture (DoRC) recently held interviews for the 7th Tibetan Arts and Culture Fund (TACF) on 6 , 7 and 13 June at DoRC hall.
Over the course of two days, applicants underwent in-person interviews, while virtual interviews were conducted for those unable to attend in person. The selection committee diligently evaluated the candidates by conducting interviews.
This year, among a total of 103 interested applicants, 36 applicants were selected for the interview round; those participants from different organisations and individuals participating in various activities related to Tibetan culture were provided grants of up to INR 1 lakh to 4 lakh.
Funding for this initiative is provided in collaboration with the USAID from 2017 onwards, it aims to preserve and promote traditional and contemporary Tibetan arts and culture particularly in India. This program serves to assist both established professionals and emerging artists in expanding their work and sharing their expertise.
To date, over 176 Tibetan individual organisations have received the fund support.
