Odhisha: The official handover ceremony between the outgoing Settlement Officer Khenpo Pema Tenphel and incoming Settlement Officer Karma Lodoe Sangpo was held on 29 April 2025.

The ceremony commenced at 10:00 a.m. under the supervision of Tsewang Yangtso, who served as the official witness representing the Department of Home, Central Tibetan Administration. The transfer of office inventories, official documents and records was carried out during the proceedings.

The event was attended by key local officials and community representatives, including members from monasteries, the President of the Local Tibetan Assembly (LTA), the representative of the Cooperative Office, community leaders and representatives of various associations. During this session, the outgoing and incoming Tibetan Settlement Officers exchange important documents, land ownership certificates, administrative guidelines and office equipment, thereby completing the handover process thoroughly. In the evening of the same day, the newly appointed Settlement Officer visited the elders’ home (Old People’s Home) for an inspection tour.

The next day, the ceremony continued with a public gathering of representatives at the settlement. The event was attended by representatives of both governmental and non-governmental organisations, as well as the general public gathered in the settlement. The program featured speeches and welcome addresses, officially marking the commencement of the new Settlement Officer’s tenure.
