
Dehradun: As part of an annual educational field trip organised by Selakui Tibetan Children’s Village (TCV), 54 students, accompanied by two teachers, paid a visit to the offices of the Tibetan Circuit Justice Commission and the Local Tibetan Justice Commission (Northern Region) on Saturday, 4 October 2025. Both offices are based in Dekyiling, Dehradun.
In the morning, the group gathered in the hearing hall of the Justice Commission. Circuit Justice Commission Secretary Tenzin Paljor introduced both the Circuit Justice Commission and the Local Justice Commission, along with the two justices. Secretary Tenzin Paljor then addressed the early development of democracy among Tibetans in exile, the objectives of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), the separation of powers among the three pillars of democracy, and the system of checks and balances.
Following this, the Local Justice Commissioner of the Northern Region, Choekyi, spoke about the historical development of the Tibetan exile judiciary system. She also explained the Judiciary Code, Civil Procedure Code and Evidence Code of the Tibetan Justice Commission. Following a question-and-answer session with the students.
Finally, Circuit Justice Commissioner Migmar Dorjee encouraged the students to study diligently and uphold good conduct. He also expressed his appreciation for their participation in the educational program focused on democracy and the rule of law. The visit concluded successfully.
