
Ravangla: On the auspicious occasion of Buddha Purnima, the Kunphenling Tibetan Settlement took part in the International Denjong Monlam Chenmo held at Tathagata Tsal, Ravangla on 1 May 2026.
The Tibetan Settlement Officer, Kalsang Tseten, attended the event on behalf of the Kunphenling Tibetan Settlement upon invitation. During the prayer ceremony, he participated in the Buddha Relic Welcoming Ceremony alongside Tsangter Tulku Rinpoche, Hon’ble Area MLA Shri Rigsal Dorjee Bhutia, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), the Additional District Collector (Development), and other distinguished dignitaries.
On the occasion, a contribution of ₹54,487 was offered to Tsangter Tulku Rinpoche towards the Denjong Monlam Chenmo on behalf of the Kunphenling Tibetan community. A special edition Ghuton Calendar was also presented to the Rinpoche and Hon’ble Minister of the Government of Sikkim, Shri Sonam Lama, as a gesture of respect and goodwill.
In addition, members of the Kunphenling Regional Tibetan Youth Congress (RTYC), Regional Tibetan Women’s Association (RTWA), along with local volunteers, extended their support to the organisers at the venue. Their dedicated service was acknowledged and appreciated by the organising committee.
Tsangter Tulku Rinpoche expressed appreciation for the contribution and participation of the Tibetan community, and emphasised the importance of continued harmony, cooperation, and mutual understanding between the Tibetan and local communities.
The participation of the Kunphenling Tibetan Settlement in this significant religious gathering reflects its continued commitment towards the preservation of spiritual values, cultural traditions, and community harmony.
