Sataun: The official handover ceremony between outgoing Settlement Officer Tenzin Rinchen and incoming Settlement Officer Ugyen Choedon took place at Kham Kathok Settlement Office on 11 February 2025. The ceremony commenced at 9:00 a.m., under the supervision of Gelek Jamyang, Settlement Officer of Poanta Cholsum, who served as the handover witness representing the Department of Home, Central Tibetan Administration. During the ceremony, a comprehensive transfer of office inventory and official documents was conducted.

The event was attended by key local officials including the Local Tibetan Assembly President Kunga Tsephel and staff members of Primary Healthcare Centers. As per tradition, both the outgoing and incoming Tibetan Settlement Officers (TSO) were presented with ceremonial scarves (khatas).Following the handover proceedings, a public gathering was held where the outgoing and incoming TSOs, along with the official witness and the Local Tibetan Assembly President Kunga Tsephel addressed the local residents.

The transition marks a new chapter in the administration of Kham Kathok settlement, ensuring continuity in the governance and service to the local Tibetan community.
