Dharamshala: Kalon (Minister) Pema Tso of the Department of Health, Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), paid her maiden official visits to the Lhagyari Recovery Centre, located behind the Tsuglagkhang complex, and Delek Hospital at Gangchen Kyishong in Dharamshala earlier this morning.
Accompanied by Health Secretary Jampa Phuntsok, the Kalon first visited the Lhagyari Recovery Centre and toured its premises. Upon arrival, Kalon Pema Tso and the Health Secretary were accorded a traditional welcome by the centre’s in-charge cum accountant, Dawa Kyipa, along with the resident patients.
During the visit, Dawa Kyipa briefed the Kalon on the centre’s facilities and provided updates on the accommodation, meals, and other care services available to patients.
After touring the premises and interacting with patients, the Kalon proceeded to Delek Hospital, located approximately two and a half kilometres downhill from the recovery centre.
At Delek Hospital, Kalon Pema Tso was received by Dr Tenzin Namdon, who guided her on a tour of the hospital’s facilities.
The Kalon briefly interacted with inpatients in the general wards before proceeding to the hospital’s Tuberculosis Clinic. There, after donning the necessary protective equipment, she met and interacted with patients undergoing treatment.
The visit concluded following her tour of the clinic, marking the completion of her maiden official visits to the two healthcare facilities.
