Dharamshala: On 10 July 2025, honouring the 90th birth anniversary of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, a traditional Himachali Dham (community feast) was organised by the Himachal Pradesh Police at the Police Lines for all those deployed in the security of His Holiness. The event was hosted by Dy SP Rohin Dogra and was graced by the presence of Kalon Dolma Gyari, Minister of the Department of Security, Central Tibetan Administration. Her participation added to the warmth and significance of the celebration, reflecting the deep bond between the Tibetan community and the people of Himachal Pradesh.
Since February 2024, the HP Police have been organising Dham on every auspicious occasion, including Losar, Diwali, and the birthday of His Holiness, as a heartfelt gesture of gratitude and reverence. His Holiness has always blessed the security personnel with gifts and kind words on such days. The Dham serves as a symbol of devotion, respect, and communal harmony.
The Dham — a traditional festive meal from Himachal Pradesh, especially revered in Kangra district — is not just about food but a celebration of unity. It brings everyone together, with all guests sitting side-by-side regardless of status, symbolising equality and social bonding.
