Dharamshala: On 12 October 2025, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) marked a historic milestone this Vijayadashami with the grand celebration of its Centenary Year, commemorating 100 years of selfless service, cultural awakening, and national unity. The highlight of the day was the presence of Kalon Dolma Gyari, the officiating Sikyong, as the Chief Guest for the occasion.
The event, named the “Centenary Samghosh”, was held at the expansive grounds of Dadi Maidan, drawing many swayamsevaks (RSS volunteers), dignitaries, community leaders, and members of the public from across the country.
In her keynote address, Kalon Dolma Gyari expressed deep appreciation for the values upheld by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, especially its emphasis on cultural preservation, spiritual resilience, and social service. She drew parallels between the Indian and Tibetan civilisational ethos, both deeply rooted in values of peace, compassion, and community strength.
“It is an honour to be part of this momentous occasion,” said Kalon Gyari. “The 100-year journey of the RSS is not just a testament to organisational strength but a reflection of India’s deep-rooted spiritual and cultural foundation. The solidarity extended by the Indian people to the Tibetan cause over the decades has been a source of immense strength for us. Today, I see that same spirit of unity and shared purpose among the swayamsevaks gathered here.”
She also spoke about the enduring friendship between India and Tibet, expressing gratitude for India’s continued support of the Tibetan community in exile and their peaceful movement for autonomy and preservation of Tibetan identity.
Senior RSS functionaries also addressed the gathering, outlining the organisation’s journey, its contributions to nation-building, and its vision for the future. They reaffirmed the RSS’s commitment to a self-reliant, united, and spiritually awakened India.
The Kalon was accompanied and assisted by her Personal Assistant Chime Tashi and Kunchok Migmar, the Tibetan Settlement Officer of Dharamshala, representing the local Tibetan community. Adding to the significance of the occasion, both the President and former President of the Tibetan Youth Congress were also present.
