
Mandi: On 13 January 2025, an official handover ceremony was held at the Tashiling Tibetan Settlement Office in Pandoh to mark the transition of responsibilities between the outgoing Tibetan Settlement Officer, Tenzin Tsultem and the incoming Tibetan Settlement Officer, Jamyang Dolma.
The ceremony was presided over by Tibetan Settlement Officer Meri Kyab from Chauntra Tibetan Settlement, serving as the official witness on behalf of the Department of Home, Central Tibetan Administration (CTA). During the event, the outgoing and incoming Tibetan Settlement Officers formally exchanged documents and inventories related to the settlement office and its areas of jurisdiction, including Tso Pema (Rewalsar), Sunder Nagar, Mandi and Pandoh. Both Tibetan Settlement Officers Tenzin Tsultem and Jamyang Dolma addressed the gathering, sharing updates on the transition and discussing ongoing initiatives and future plans for the settlement.
The following day, 14 January 2025, outgoing Tibetan Settlement Officer Tenzin Tsultem visited Rewalsar to bid farewell to the Tibetan settlers and introduce Jamyang Dolma as the new settlement officer.
Earlier, on 3 January 2025, ahead of the official handover, the outgoing Tibetan Settlement Officer introduced Settlement Officer Jamyang Dolma to officials at Indian government offices in Mandi and Sunder Nagar. That evening, the Indo-Tibet Friendship Association organised a combined introductory and farewell dinner at Raj Mahal. The dinner was attended by the association’s president, Virender Bhat Sharma, who also serves as the Mayor of Mandi Municipal Corporation, along with other association members. During the event, Sharma commended outgoing Tibetan Settlement Officer for his dedicated service and contributions to the Tibetan community and expressed confidence in the new Tibetan Settlement Officer’s ability to excel in her new role.
Likewise, the Tashiling Tibetan Settlement expressed gratitude to the outgoing Tibetan Settlement Officer for his service and extended a warm welcome to Tibetan Settlement Officer Jamyang Dolma on her new responsibilities.
