Delhi: India Tibet Coordination Office (ITCO), New Delhi organised a Tibet awareness cum briefing session at Delhi School of Journalism, University of Delhi on 12 October 2022. The session was led by ITCO Coordinator (Acting) Tashi Dekyi along with Program Officer Choney Tsering.
The session was attended by the students and faculties of Delhi School of Journalism who are participating for the upcoming educational visit program to Dharamshala from 19 – 21 October 2022 under the annual outreach program on Tibet for media students organise by India Tibet Coordination Office, New Delhi.
The session was graced by the presence of Prof. J. P. Dubey, Director, Delhi School of Journalism who from the beginning had welcomed and well supported the educational visit program. Faculty members Rajat Abhinav and Shipra Raj were also present during the session.
At the session, Coordinator (Acting) Tashi Dekyi briefed the students and faculties about India Tibet Coordination Office. She further briefed them about Tibet highlighting the current situation inside Tibet, India-Tibet relations and the significance of Tibet for India.
Program Officer Choney Tsering briefed the participants regarding the upcoming educational visit program. He summarised them the three days program schedule, do’s and don’ts during the program and preparedness in regard to the program.
The aims and purpose of the educational visit program was also stressed to the participants which was followed by Q & A where the students were so curious about Tibet and raised many questions to which ITCO team answered.
Books and pamphlets related to Tibet were also distributed to the participants to have knowledge about Tibet.
The session concluded with the offering of khatak (Tibetan white scarf) and books on Tibet to Prof. J. P. Dubey by Coordinator (Acting) Tashi Dekyi expressing thanks for the opportunity to organise the session.
