New Delhi: With the intent of Wuhan originated COVID-19 pandemic, the recent face-off between Indo-Chinese armies and the illegitimate imposition of new security laws in Hong Kong gave a new spotlight upon the issue of Tibet and its relevance in analysing Himalaya-Hind Mahasagar. Undoubtedly the credibility of the Chinese Communist Government has sharply declined and it is now replaced by skepticism and anger from the entire world.
Similarly in India even amongst the youth, there is new emerging crave to understand Chinese relations with India with its past and present. Through this end, India Tibet Friendship Society (Youth & Students Wing) organised a webinar titled “Himalaya Bachao” on Sunday 12 July 2020. The webinar was attended by Dr. Anand Kumar, General Secretary, India Tibet Friendship Society (ITFS). He highlighted the members on the significance of the Himalayan Region for the Indian Subcontinent and the importance of Tibet for the same and why there is a need to support the issue of Tibet with much vigour and enthusiasm.
Mr. Jigmey Tsultrim, Coordinator, India Tibet Coordination Office (ITCO) also shared his views with the participants. He said that the best way to understand the issue of Tibet and work for it is through the book ”Tibbat Mukhti Sadhana” by Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche.
Later, the young members of the organisation Abhishek Awachar, Prashant Gautam, Ruchi Sinha, Abhishek Ranjan and others presented their views on the occasion.
Likewise senior members of ITFS Dr. Manoj Kumar, Shri Amrut Bansod, Shri Prabhat Kumar, Smt. Uma Ghosh, Smt. Resham Bala, Shri Sandesh Meshram, and others also participated.
The staff of ITCO Delhi also participated in the webinar.
