Bangalore: The Department of Health, with the support of kind funding from USAID organised HIV/AIDS awareness program for college going students and youth at Institute For Small Trade Learning, Neelamagala center, Tibetan Youth hostel at kolamangala, and at the Dalai lama institute for higher education, Ramnagar district from 2 to 4 July, through Health staff from Tsojhe hospital led by Executive Secretary Mr. Yougyal.
The prime objective of the awareness campaign was to educate and aware Tibetan youth who are more vulnerable to HIV infections through unsafe sex and sharing of syringes for drug injections.
Likewise, to educate them about the kind of prejudice and discrimination faced by HIV patients and how to rise above it.
The campaign also included HIV/AIDS talk via PP presentation by Dr. Rinzin Choedon from Tsojhe Hospital at all three venues, skit play by St. John nursing students, basketball match among girls at Tibetan Youth hostel & individual and group discussions on the topics.
Department of Health, will next conduct similar program at Tibetan Youth Hostel, Delhi in coming months.
