Gangtok: On 13 August 2025, as a part of “Year of Compassion” programme, the Local Ghoton Organising Committee of Gangtok organised a charitable initiative by providing free meals to the four old age homes and two childcare Institutions.

The beneficiaries included, Mayalmu Shelter Home, Lee Aal Old Age Home Tintek, Old Age Home Ranipool, Derge Dhungdrup Tsogpa Senior Citizens Home, Child Care Institute Bhojoghari Children Home and an Orphanage home.

A total of 130 individuals were served during this compassionate outreach.
