Paris, France: Tibet Support Group at the French Senate and the Office of Tibet, Paris celebrated the 85th birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama on Tuesday at the Senate hall in Paris. The official celebration was postponed in keeping with the prevailing COVID-19 situation at the time.
Ever since 1990, His Holiness birthday has been celebrated in an alternative year between Tibet Support Group at French Senate and French Parliament. However, due to the prevailing pandemic crisis, the celebration had to be postponed.
Senator Michel Raison the President of Tibet Support Group at French Senate has been a long-standing ardent supporter of Tibet for many years and this is his final year in the senate before his retirement.
The French senate commended the outspread legacy of His Holiness and added that the latter is an inspiration to the French people who hold him in high esteem.
“This fortunate event is the celebration of His Holiness legacy, his teachings and vision for humanity,” Senator Raison noted.
The Senator solidified the continued support of the French Senate to the cause of Tibet.
Mr Namgyal Samdup, Coordinator of Office of Tibet, Paris started his Speech elaborating his holiness contribution towards peaceful co-existence among humans and also with the environment and to Tibetan people. he has informed that Central Tibetan Administration has dedicated this year as Year of Gratitude to express our deep gratitude to His Holiness and urge Tibetan and friends of Tibet to initiate and take part in activities in their capacities to create awareness about the life and commitment of His Holiness.He thanked the group for its relentless and consistent support.
