Dharamshala: The Terminology section under the Department of Education, CTA, held an awareness programme to Tibetan Settlement Officers on 8 November about how the section standardises terminologies and its overall functions.
At 9 am of the same day, Mr Trinley, the Acting Director of Terminology Section, gave a brief presentation to the Tibetan Settlement Officers who are currently in Dharamshala to attend the 14th Settlement Officer’s Conference, about the contributions of the Terminology section in the preservation and promotion of the Tibetan language. He also explained how the section performs its functions of standardisation of terms, stages of standardising the terms, and creating awareness about the standardised terms in schools, monasteries and society in large. He further called on the Tibetan Settlement Officers for their cooperation and support in amplifying the usage of the standardised terms amongst Tibetans and informed the attendees about the publications, website, and application software of the Terminology Section.
The awareness programme was concluded with extensive discussions between the Terminology Section officers and the Tibetan Settlement Officers.
