Dharamshala: The 92nd Governing Body meeting of Central Tibetan Schools Administration (CTSA) held on 29 March 2022 was chaired by Mrs L.S Changsan, Additional Secretary (Institution) Chairperson of the Governing Body of CTSA Ministry of Education. The meeting was attended by Governing Body members Mrs Darshan M. Dabarwal, Joint Secretary & Financial Advisor, Ministry of Education, GoI, Representative from the Ministry of External Affairs, Mrs Tharlam Dolma Changra, Kalon, Department of Education, CTA, Mr Jigmey Namgyal, Secretary DoE, Mr Dongchung Ngodup, Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, New Delhi. Mr T. S. Rautela, Director from the Ministry of Education and Mr A.S. Rawat and Mr Pritam Singh, Joint Directors of CTSA also attended the meeting.
Apart from the discussion on the closure of CTSA, the immense contribution of CTSA to the education of Tibetan children was also put on record. Chairperson Mrs L.S Changsan said, “Though it is an emotional moment of CTSA closure, she felt confident that the Department of Education, CTA will carry forward the legacy with full zeal, and the Govt. of India will continue to support educating the Tibetan youth.” Education Kalon, at the meeting, expressed a deep sense of gratitude to the Govt. of India and its people for supporting and taking care of the Tibetans in exile, and in particular, the CTSA for rendering service towards the education of Tibetan children for more than six decades. She gave full assurance that the children not only get a good education but every effort will be made to instil good human values among them.
Earlier on 28 March 2022, the Department of Education, CTA arranged a farewell ceremony to honour and facilitate the staff of CTSA HQ for the great service rendered them over the last six decades. At the farewell ceremony, Education Kalon said that the vision of His Holiness the Dalai Lama was to provide quality modern education and preserve the rich Tibetan language, culture and tradition at the same time. The vision became the mission of the Govt. of India and established separate schools for the Tibetan children in exile. Thus, over the last six decades, CTSA has educated thousands of Tibetan children who are now serving in different departments of CTA, and all over the world.
