Dharamshala: A week-long dialectic meeting of Mussorie and Dharamshala-based Tibetan schools concluded on Wednesday, 30 August.
The valedictory session was presided over by Khenpo Sherab Dorjee, vice-principal of Drikung Kagyu Shedra. He spoke to the gathering stressing the importance and relevance of dialectic practice in academic curriculum. Emphasising the compatibility of dialectic with science, he explained how the usage of dialectic improves one’s cognitive skills and reasoning ability.
” His Holiness the Dalai Lama has constantly emphasised the benefits of dialectic and, because of his advice, this practice has flourished and garnered wide interest”, he added and urged everyone to focus on the promotion of this practice for the well-being of others.
The participants of the meeting received an audience with Sakya Gongma Trichen Rinpoche during which, Rinpcohe spoke to the gathering about the cultivation of happiness and detachment from materialism.
Around 15 schools have participated in this meeting.
