Dharamshala: In celebration of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 90th birthday and the Year of Compassion, the Tibetan Settlement Office of Dharamshala organised a mass clean-up drive near the Bhagsu River under the Clean Upper Dharamshala programme.
The event was held in collaboration with several Taiwanese groups visiting for His Holiness’ teachings, along with local residents who volunteered their support. This initiative formed a meaningful part of the celebrations honouring both His Holiness’s milestone birthday and the spirit of compassion.
During the clean-up, Tibetan Settlement Officer Kunchok Migmar addressed local shopkeepers, urging them to maintain separate dustbins and spread awareness about the fragile ecosystem of our Devbhumi, Himachal Pradesh.
The drive concluded with a group photo of all participants, taken alongside sacks of collected waste—symbolising the collective commitment to protect and preserve the natural beauty of the region.
