Dharamshala: This morning, the Tibetan Settlement Office in Dharamshala hosted a group of 80 students and faculty members from Academic World School, Chhattisgarh, at the Settlement’s Community Hall and introduced the students to the Tibetan community in exile.
Addressing the visiting students and faculty, who were in Dharamshala as part of their educational tour, Tibetan Settlement Officer Kunchok Migmar shared insights into the Tibetan freedom struggle, life in exile, the workings of the Tibetan democratic system, and the longstanding historical and cultural ties between India and Tibet.
He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Government and people of India for their gracious hospitality and unwavering support to the Tibetan community over the past six decades.
“As we commemorate the 90th birth anniversary of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama by observing this year as the ‘Year of Compassion’, we offered diary books to the students and teachers as a small token of our appreciation,” remarked Settlement Officer Kunchok Migmar.
