Dharamshala: A three-day programme orientation and training on the pilot trial of TVHA-Integrated Health Information System (TMAI-Sowa Rigpa) commenced at Men-Tsee-Khang for the clinicians of TMAI Gangkyi and Mcleod Branch Clinics. The training started on 2 March extending into 4 March 2023 in Dharamshala in collaboration with Society for Health Information Systems Programmes (HISP) India.
The training aims for easy coordination, collection, process, and reporting of data from non-Department of Health facilities. This is crucial to building a comprehensive and robust health surveillance system for the Tibetan refugee community. The need to capture the health data from the Tibetan Medical & Astro Science Institute (TMAI) is important for TMAI as well as Tibetan Voluntary Health Association (TVHA) to understand the overall community health.
The Department of Health, in collaboration with HISP India, developed Integrated Health Information System (HIS) for TMAI and the training is being funded by USAID through the Tibet Fund.
