Dharamshala: A delegation from the Woeser Association in Italy, led by Dr Raffaella, visited the Department of Health (CTA) on 3 January 2024.
The visiting group met and interacted with Health Secretary Dawa Tsultrim, project coordinator Tsering, and Tenzin Chondhen, the Odisha dealing staff, to discuss the Woeser Association’s partial funding of planned Menlha Hospital’s redevelopment project. Later in the evening, the department hosted a dinner for the delegation of Woeser Association and was also attended by Secretary Palden Dhondup (former Health Secretary) from the Department of Home.
The renovation projects was seen indispensable because of numerous indications of age-related deterioration to the Menlha Hospital, including ceiling fissures, warped low-quality timber doors, and worn-off and discoloured institutional paintwork. The donors’ fund will help ease the financial load and contribute to the success of this renovation. The department, on its website, appreciates Woeser Association and all other donors for their contributions towards Tibetan community.
