Dharamshala: A delegation from Aide à l’Enfance Tibétaine (AET) France visited the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) and engaged with Tibetan leadership.
In the morning, the AET delegation—led by President Karma Thinlay and Vice President Ngawang Dolkar—visited the Department of Health, where they met with Secretary Jampa Phuntsok and department staff. The meeting focused on the ongoing challenges and future needs of the Ngoenga School for Tibetan Children with Special Needs, which has long benefited from AET France’s sponsorship. Secretary Jampa Phuntsok expressed his deep gratitude for their continued support of the children’s welfare at Ngoenga School.
Later in the day, the delegation visited the Department of Education, where a meeting was convened in the presence of Sikyong Penpa Tsering and Education Kalon Tharlam Dolma Changra. Kalon Tharlam Dolma addressed the current challenges faced by Tibetan students, with a particular focus on scholarship opportunities and the need for continued foreign aid to support meritorious students. In their honour, a luncheon was also held at the office.
Similarly, on the same day, devotees from Southeast Asian countries also met with the Sikyong Penpa Tsering, the incumbent Kalon for the Department of Religion and Culture, and Additional Secretary Kunga Gyaltsen at Norbu House where a luncheon was also held in honour of their presence. The group, who are currently in Dharamshala to attend the long-life prayer offering to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, were presented with a thangka depicting the life and achievements of His Holiness the Dalai Lama as a gesture of appreciation by Sikyong Penpa Tsering during the event.
Tomorrow, the Southeast Asian delegation will present a Long-life Cultural Performance in honour of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 90th birth year.
