
Dehradun: On 22 April 2026, Jaya Sidhartha Hospital organised a programme to honour and thank doctors for their dedication and selfless service toward the well-being of others. Shri Subodh Uniyal, Honourable Minister for Health, Uttarakhand, attended the occasion as the chief guest.
Tsewang Phuntsok, Tibetan Settlement Officer, attended the programme as an invited guest, accompanied by Tenzin Lhawang, Director of the Dekyiling Tibetan Primary Health Care Centre, and Sonam Lhawang, Dekyiling settlement resident’s representative.
During the event, Tibetan Settlement Officer Tsewang Phuntsok welcomed the Honourable Minister by offering a traditional Tibetan ceremonial scarf (khatag) and presented a copy of ‘Voice for the Voiceless’ by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, briefly explaining its significance. The Honourable Minister acknowledged the gesture and took a moment to glance through the book.
Earlier, on 17 April 2026, Tibetan Settlement Officer Tsewang Phuntsok paid a courtesy visit to Shailendra Kumar Singh, State In-Charge of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in Uttarakhand, accompanied by Subhash Kumar, former Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand. During the meeting, he requested support for the Tibetan community in Dehradun and presented a traditional Tibetan scarf and the same book.
The offering of this book is part of the broader programme titled “Ghoton: The Year of Compassion,” being observed from 6 July 2025 to 5 July 2026.
