Prague: On 26 March 2026, Representative Thinlay Chukki and Phuntsok Topgyal, UN Advocacy Officer, successfully completed an official three-day visit to Prague, in the Czech Republic.
During this important visit, one of the most significant achievements was the re-establishment of the Parliament Tibet Support Group within the Chamber of Deputies. This development comes after the parliamentary members were re-elected in October 2025, marking a renewed phase of engagement and commitment.
The active participation and support of parliamentarians from a wide range of political parties is both strong and inspiring. It reflects the Czech Republic’s longstanding dedication to the principles of human rights, freedom, and justice. Such unity across political lines demonstrates a deep and enduring moral responsibility toward the Tibetan cause.
This important step sends a clear and powerful message to the international community. Even in today’s complex and challenging global environment, Czech parliamentarians continue to stand firmly on the side of truth, justice, and human dignity. It also reaffirms that democratic values must always prevail over authoritarianism and dictatorship.
Furthermore, the re-establishment of this support group symbolises not only political solidarity but also a continued commitment to advocating for the rights and freedoms of the Tibetan people on the global stage. It strengthens the voice of those who seek justice and reminds the world that the struggle for human rights remains a shared and universal responsibility.
