“The bill passed by the US Congress and signed by the President of the United States is a path showing legislation for other world leaders to follow. It paved way for the world leaders to act bold against China. This is very high time that the Government of India should also have clear policy in regard to Tibet as the issue of Tibet directly concerned the security of India. Therefore, we appeal to the people of India to pressurize the Government of India to have clear policy on Tibet”, writes Shri R.K Khirmey.
He said, “the US has been among the pioneer countries in helping Tibetans to protect its unique culture and identity by welcoming His Holiness the Dalai Lama since 1979 followed by the adoption of the US Tibetan Resettlement Project in the 1990s, the Tibet Policy Act of 2002, the Reciprocal Access to Tibet Act and the most recent TPSA 2020.”
“We, the Members of Core Group for Tibetan Cause – India is very thankful to the President of the United States and the US Congress for this historic bill. At the same time, we offer our thanks to the people and the Government of the United States of America for its consistent support to the Tibetan cause over the years and urge it to keep supporting Tibet till it gets freedom” concludes Shri Khirmey.
