Coordinator Thupten Tsering Visits Rennes to Collect Annual Tibetan Voluntary Contributions
Paris: Coordinator Thupten Tsering from the Bureau du Tibet in Paris visited Rennes, the capital of Brittany in northwestern France, on 9 May 2025, in response to a request from the regional Tibetan Association. The purpose of the visit was to collect the annual voluntary contributions from local Tibetan residents.
A total of 29 Tibetans made their contributions, and 13 families donated toward the celebration fund for His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 90th birthday. Several others had already contributed through acquaintances residing in Paris.
Rennes is home to approximately 40 Tibetan families, along with a few single individuals who moved to the city more recently, forming a small but close-knit Tibetan community. During his visit, the Coordinator encouraged community members to establish a weekend school to promote Tibetan language and culture. He also urged those who do not possess a Green Book—or whose Green Books have been lost—to apply for renewal or re-issuance.
