
Dharamshala: The Chief Election Commissioner, Lobsang Yeshi, accompanied by Election Commission Secretary Lobsang Choedak, conducted a series of outreach visits to Tibetan institutions in Dharamshala from 5 to 8 December 2025 to raise awareness of the forthcoming Tibetan General Election.
The programme commenced on 5 December with a visit to Men-Tsee-Khang, where the Chief Election Commissioner addressed staff and students, followed by an interactive question-and-answer session. Later that day, joined by Dharamshala Local Tibetan Election Commissioner and Tibetan Settlement Officer Kunchok Migmar, the delegation visited the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA). The Chief Election Commissioner spoke to staff and members on the significance of the upcoming election of Sikyong and members of the 18th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile and engaged in discussions before proceeding to the Tibetan Children’s Village (TCV) School for a similar awareness programme.
On 6 December, the Chief Election Commissioner visited the College for Higher Tibetan Studies, Sarah, where he conducted an election awareness session for students and faculty. In the afternoon, the delegation travelled to the Norbulingka Institute, interacting with staff and members of the public. The session included a briefing on the electoral process and an open exchange of questions and responses.
The visit concluded on 8 December with a meeting with members of the local Tibetan community in Dharamshala, followed by a meeting with the Dharamshala Local Election Officers at the Community Hall.
