
Bylakuppe: As part of the programme organised by the Central Tibetan Administration’s Election Commission to conduct public talks related to the upcoming Tibetan general elections in settlements across India, Chief Election Commissioner Lobsang Yeshi arrived in Bylakuppe on 21 October 2025.
Accompanied by Additional Secretary Tenzin Norbu from the Election Commission, the Chief Election Commissioner received a warm welcome from the Tibetan Settlement Officers of Lugsung Samdupling and Dekyi Larso.
Later that afternoon, Chief Election Commissioner Lobsang Yeshi held a gathering at the Dekyi Larso Tibetan Cooperative Society hall to raise awareness about the forthcoming 2026 Sikyong and 18th Tibetan Parliamentary elections. It was attended by the two Tibetan Settlement Officers, representatives of local Tibetan organisations and institutions, regional Tibetan election officers, and community members of Lugsung Samdupling and Dekyi Larso.
On the following day, an internal meeting was held with the regional Tibetan election officers at the Lugsung Samdupling Tibetan Cooperative Society hall. Thereafter, a series of other awareness talks were also held at Namdroling Monastery and Sera Jey Khe Nyen Dratsang.
On 23 October, the Chief Election Commissioner and Additional Secretary left for Mysore to hold similar talks for the Tibetan college students in Mysore and then at the Dalai Lama Institute for Higher Education in Bangalore.
