
KATHMANDU: Kashag of the Central Tibetan Administration has appointed Mr Tsultrim Gyatso, former chairman of Lodrik welfare organisation, as the new coordinator for Tibetans in Nepal. The outgoing coordinator for Tibetans in Nepal is Mr Tamdin Dorjee.
The handover ceremony between the incoming and outgoing coordinator was held on 11 June 2017. Mr Sonam Norbu Dagpo, Secretary of Department of Information and International Relations (DIIR) served as the official witness at the handover ceremony.
Over fifty people including the resident Tibetan parliamentarian Mr Tashi Dhondup along with Chairman of the local Tibetan assembly, settlement officers of various Tibetan settlements in Nepal, principals of schools, and heads of various Tibetan governmental and non-governmental organisations attended the ceremony.
Following the handover ceremony, Secretary Sonam Norbu Dagpo welcomed the new coordinator and expressed his good wishes on his new responsibility. He also thanked the outgoing coordinator for his wholehearted dedication and service towards the welfare of the Tibetans in Nepal.
The staff of the Coordinator’s office presented a souvenir to the outgoing coordinator to express their gratitude for his service and leadership.
