BENAGLURU: Mr Karma Singe, the chief representative of the South Zone Tibetan settlements, made a courtesy call to congratulate and welcome Mr Jagadish Shettar, the new chief minister of Karnataka.
He expressed the gratitude and appreciation to the people and the government of Karnataka for their generous support and hospitality towards the Tibetan people for more than 4 decades and requested them to continue their support.
Mr Karma Singe also informed the chief minister about the forthcoming visit of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Bengaluru and Doeguling Tibetan settlement in late November this year.
Prior to his appointment as the new chief minister, Mr Shettar was the minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj. It may be recalled that the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department had sanctioned Rs 170 lakhs for water supply and road repair earlier this year for the Tibetan settlements in Karnataka.
