LEH: His Holiness the Dalai Lama arrived in Ladakh yesterday to a rousing welcome by  the heads of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), the Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA) and other dignitaries at the Kushok Bakula Rinpoche airport.

His Holiness is on a 20-day visit to the region during which he is scheduled to visit Zanskar, Durbuk and other places.

His Holiness is accompanied by the state tourism minister, Nawang Rigzin Jora. More than 35,000 people came to receive His Holiness the Dalai Lama on his way to Choglamsar from the airport.

His Holiness will stay in Choglamsar for about 5 days.
