WASHINGTON, DC: Senators and Congressmen on Wednesday met Kalon Tripa Dr Lobsang Sangay during his five-day visit to the United States.
Senators Lieberman and John McCain met Kalon Tripa for over an hour. Senator Lieberman in his welcoming remark stated that the Kalon Tripa’s visit to the US capital was important as it would “test the conscience of the nation.” The three also jointly addressed the press.
Congressman David Dreier, a Republican from California and the Chairman of the House Rules Committee and member of the House Democracy Partnership, and David Price, a democrat from North Carolina and a member of the House Democracy Partnership, also met the Kalon Tripa.
