CTA to hold prayer service
The Central Tibetan Administration will hold a prayer service in Dharamsala tomorrow (19 July) to mourn the tragic self-immolation of Lobsang Lozin, an 18-year-old Tibetan monk of Gyalrong Tsodun Kirti Monastery in Bharkham, Ngaba, on 17 June. The prayer service aims to condole and express solidarity with all those Tibetans who have sacrificed their lives for the just cause of Tibet and the Tibetan people, the Kashag secretariat said in a statement. The entire officials of the CTA will join the prayer service at Tsuglagkhang, the main temple, at 4:00 PM.
Since 2009, 44 Tibetans have set themselves on fire in Tibet in protest against the Chinese rule. 32 of these incidents occurred in this year alone. They have shouted slogans demanding freedom and the return of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to his homeland.
