DHARAMSHALA: An intensive Orientation course was imparted for newly-appointed Settlement Officers of Miao, Tezu, Kalimpong and Dehradun at the conference hall of Kashag Secretariat  today, 2o June.

The course was arranged and conducted by staff Placement Division under kashag Secretariat  in line with Kashag’s new policy wherein a newly-appointed officers  are introduced to a background information of their settlements and variety of roles and functions of a Settlement Officers.

Orientation covered other important themes such as settlement officer’s accountability to local assembly; relationship with local NGOs; preparation of budget and submission of annual report etcs.

According to Ugen Tsering Chaksam of Kashag Secretariat, a staff moving to a new role in totally new environment and set up can always be a challenge, an above orientation was aimed at overcoming that challenge.
