NEW DELHI: Home Kalon Mr Sonam Topgyal Khorlatsang met with Shri R.K. Mitra, Joint Secretary of FFR Division, MHA, Government of India, in his chamber at around 5.30 pm on 8 December at New Delhi. He also met Mr S.K Parida, Under Secretary of FFR Division, MHA, Government of India.

This was Mr Sonam Topgyal Khorlatsang’s first meeting with the MHA officials since assuming the responsibility of Home Kalon and was intended as a courtesy call to pay respects to the officials. During the meeting, Home Kalon apprised the Joint Secretary of Tibetan concerns and requested for continued support. The meeting was very fruitful and the official assured that Tibetan concerns will be addressed on priority basis.

The challenges and difficulties faced by Tibetan refugees residing in various states of the country were brought to the attention of MHA, Government of India from time to time by the Central Tibetan Relief Committee and Bureau of His Holiness the Dalai Lama based in New Delhi.

Home Kalon was accompanied by Mr Chhimey Rigzen, Acting Secretary, Department of Home, Mr Tsewang Gyalpo Arya, Secretary, Bureau of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, New Delhi and Mr Tenzin Losel, PA.
