MIAO, Arunachal Pradesh: The Department of Information and International Relations (DIIR) wrapped up its northeast leg of Umaylam workshops with a daylong session at Miao Tibetan settlement based in Arunachal Pradesh.
Thirty-one Tibetan students attended the workshop, which included 24 students from Sambhota Tibetan School based in Miao and 7 from Tezu.
The workshop focused on the meaning of Umaylam and why and how the approach was conceived and democratically adopted by the Tibetan administration as a practical method of resolving the Tibet issue.
During the workshop, the participants were encouraged to express their understanding of Umaylam and use their creativity to make the approach more attractive to fellow students and friends.
With this workshop, DIIR has completed its nationwide campaign on the essence of Umaylam aimed at Tibetan youth and students based in India. As part of this campaign, workshops were held for students from Tibetan schools and colleges across all parts of India including Ladakh in the north to Chennai in the south, Baroda (Vadodara) in the west to Miao in the east of India.
The workshops were conducted by Mr Tenzin Jamchhen and Mr Jamphel Shonu from DIIR.
