
Dharamsala, October 8th, 2016 – The Student Entrepreneurship Club (SEC) implemented by the Tibetan Children’s Village School, Upper Dharamsala in collaboration with the Tibetan Entrepreneurship Development (TED) initiative of the Department of Finance, CTA, organised its final showcasing event for the year 2016. The chief guest for the event was Honorable Finance Kalon Kungoe Karma Yeshi and other dignitaries present for the event were, President of TCV School, Mr Thupten Dorjee, Education Director, Mr Sonam Sichoe, Director, Mr Ngodup Wangdue, Principal of Upper TCV School, Mr Namdol Tashi, Head Mistress of Senior Section School, Ms Ngawang Lhamo and TED program officers.
The Student Entrepreneurship Program is part of the TED program to develop entrepreneurs and create awareness about the importance of Entrepreneurship in community development. The Student program specifically focuses on instilling and nurturing entrepreneurial mindset among the students. The SEC conducted 17 sessions in the year and during the sessions the students were introduced to various topics related to entrepreneurial mindset such as, creativity and innovation, importance of a clear vision, effective communication, self-Awareness etc..
Paljor Kalon Karma Yeshi la during his speech highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship and how it is one of the vision of the Department of Finance in development of a sustaining and self-reliant community. He also urged the students take interest in their education and focus on developing their minds along with their grades and classes.
The event had the student club members share their experience and learnings from the year with the help of PowerPoint presentations.
